Bengali girl Monali Thakur nowadays is not just a bengali celebrity, rather her fame spread throughout all over India.Her latest song MOH KI DHAGE from the film ''DOM LAGAKE HAISA'' managed to reached at the INDIAN TOP TEN CHART.Moreover she is coming out as a actress once again and performing as a judge at the talent search programme 'SAREGAMAPA LITTLE CHAMPS'.We can say that todays indian music world is known as MONALIAN.
Her carrier began at her very childhood age. Sometimes she sings, sometimes she acts and sometimes she dance.She starts winning big big prices only at the age of fourteen.then she started acting in popular daily soap ALOKITO EK BINDU, in which she played the title roll The soap aired at the BENGALI channel ETV BANGLA.Her roll made her familier from home to home.
Her carrier turned into biggest path when she joined in INDIAN most popular music talent search INDIAN IDOL-2. In this programme, she shows her singing abilty to all.She managed to reache at the top ten perticipent.Indian Famous music director ANNU MALIK said as a judge of the programme that he will give her chance in his next movie.As promised, ANNU MALIK gave her chance to playback in to the film JANEMAN,which music composed by ANNU MALIK himself.
But Monali made a lot of imprssion in 2008 with the song ''ZARA ZARA TOUCH ME'', in the film ''RACE''. The song was compsed by PRITAM. The song spread throughout all over the india.Then she has been offering for many more item song for the films.However, she was not satisfied by giving her voice only in item songs.Therefor in 2013 she record her voice for the classical song ''SAWARLOO'', in the film ''LUTERA''.Which was compoesd by young music director AMIT TRIVEDI.The song critically approved. Both generally and critically liked the song. Though the movie could make good at the box office but the song was super hit.Then she kept her busy as a playback singer for couple of the years.
In 2014, she came back again in acting carrier with the movie ''LAKSMI''. She acted in this movie as a title roll as usual.Monali won best actress prize in this movie.Now she doing both singing and acting activities successfully.
